7 months old!

Averi is now 7 months and 1 week. She is getting so big. I can not believe time is flying by the way it is. She is saying Mama, Mom, and for the first time said Dada today! And to make that even more special, it is Father's Day!!! She also started crawling today. Well, she did for about 2 feet and then fell, but hey, it is a work in progress. She hops more than crawls.
One big thing that she is doing, is that she is pulling up. I will post some pics of that. It is so cute, she thinks she is just such a big girl when she does it!
We are going to have to baby proof the house this week, because I am sure it will be just a few days before she is taking off everywhere.

4 months later

OK, so I totally have not had time to update this blog. About 4 1/2 months have passed since my last post. Averi was born November 13, 2008 at 2:45 pm. She weighed in at a HEALTHY 8 pounds 15 ounces. She was a short one though at only 18.9 inches long. The doctor never thought she would be so big because they estimated her weight off her length.
Well, a couple months have passed and she is still short and chunky!!! At her 4 month appt she weighed 16 pounds 12 ounces and only 25 1/2" long. She got her shots and did not do that great with them. She had a fever for about 2 days and was very sleepy.
As far as development, she is still bald. Don't know if that girl will ever get hair! We started feeding her rice cereal on March 13th. She is not quite sure what to do with the food. She knows to open her mouth, but from there on she is totally confused. We are working on it though! Averi has rolled over a couple times from belly to back. She wants SO badly to sit up and stand up. She can sit up on her own for about 4-5 seconds and then plops over. It is so cute!
She just started grabing for things. And of course, if she grabs it, it goes straight to her mouth. She wants to chew on everything, her favorite being my hand. I am not looking forward to when there are teeth in that mouth!
Commodore and I cherish every single moment that we have with her. She is the kindest, funniest, and cutiest baby. I know every parent thinks their baby is the cutest, but I REALLY think she is! I just stare at her and can not believe that I was blessed with such a great gift.

16 days and counting!

So I am starting this blog to keep all my family and friends up to date on little Averi Grace. Averi is due November 14, which is only 16 days away!!! 16 days until I am a mom. This is the most exciting and nerve racking time of my life. I thought waiting for Commodore and I's wedding was hard, that was nothing compaired to this. Everyone tells me that the next couple of weeks will fly by, well they aren't!! It feels like time is standing still and she will never be here. Every little ache and pain sends a million thoughts through my head. I just can not wait to actually touch those little toes and knees that I feel all the time poking me in the stomach. We go back to the doctor on Tuesday and will have a sonogram to measure and weigh her, that should give us more of an idea on when we can expect her to arrive.
